Food Allergies and intolerances (such as lactose or gluten intolerance) are often identified by clinical tests, but too often patients are just sent home with a list of foods to avoid and left to figure out for themselves what they can eat. Our Registered Dietitians are skilled at helping individuals develop menus and strategies for healthy, balanced eating that includes a variety of healthy choices while avoiding problem foods. The “what to do” (avoid …) is easy, but the “how to do it” can be challenging when trying to balance all of life’s other demands. Food Sensitivities

Food Sensitivities are more diverse, and are not always easily identified by traditional clinical laboratory tests.

If they are contributing to your health problems, then a dietitian with specialized training may be just what you need to find lasting relief.  The Registered Dietitians at ProActive Nutrition are specially trained to help patients identify food allergies and sensitivities and overcome health problems associated with such adverse food reactions.   The scientific research in this area is growing daily to support the significant foods and food additives can have on a variety of health issues.  Notably, adverse reactions to foods can cause increased inflammation, malabsorption of nutrients, skin disorders, and disruptions in brain chemistry which affects moods, focus and behavior.   As with all nutrition therapies, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to identifying and managing food sensitivities.  Our trained dietitians carefully work with individuals to learn each individual’s health history, food & lifestyle habits and concerns.  We utilize past medical history, mediator release testing and elimination diets to identify trigger foods, then work with each patient to construct eating plans that contain safe foods and realistic menus and strategies.  Our goal is always to empower patients to take control of their own health and to optimize their quality of life!

  • Specially trained Registered Dietitians guide patients through food sensitivity testing and diet therapy to detect and manage symptoms caused by food sensitivities.
  • Each patient has a custom nutrition plan comprised of a progressive, phased reintroduction of foods based on their individual MRT results. The least reactive foods are introduced in the earliest stages.
